Approved JAA Multi Engine Instrument Rating Course

Introduction.

This course is for pilots who have passed the JAA written exams at ATPL or CPL level and wish (or need!) to add an Instrument Rating to their existing licence.

Pre-entry Requirements.

To start an Instrument Rating course you need in addition to the written exams to have a current licence with night rating and medical.

The Course.

This is probably the most demanding and challenging flying course you will ever do, so we do our utmost to make it as pleasant as possible by offering a friendly and informal but thorough course.

Our aircraft are equipped for GPS approaches and RNAV, the twin has full three axis autopilot, weather and traffic info, flight director and a flight data computer.

Your training will include GPS and no-gyros approaches and as wide an experience of airways and non-airways route and approaches as we can possible obtain.

Our aim is to give you as broad and well-rounded a course as is possible in the flying hours available, and to train you in such a way that your skills stay with you after your successful test.

We guarantee to do our utmost to fit in with your timescale - evening and weekends included. (Extra charges apply if you require your training after 2200hrs...)

The course itself consists of a minimum of 55 hours instrument instruction (reduced to 50 hrs if you hold a CPL(A)). We plan to do 30 hours on the simulator, 5 hours general experience on the P28A Warrior and 15 hours on the BE76 Duchess, but if you want to spend more of your time flying and/or on the Duchess this can of course be arranged - all supporting ground school is included in the price.
