JAA-PPL Course

PSF trains student pilots to the AOPA syllabus for JAR-FCL requirements. The training and flying requirements of this are as follows:-

Total flying experience - minimum 45 hours.

The total of 45 hours shall include:

Not less than 10 hours supervised solo flight time.

Not less than 25 hours dual flight instruction under a qualified instructor in an aeroplane fitted with dual controls.

The flying training shall include not less than:

(a) 2 hours stall awareness and spin avoidance training;

(b) Sufficient dual instruction in instrument flying to enable the student to maintain control of the aeroplane if inadvertently encountering instrument meteorological conditions (IMC) and return to visual meteorological conditions (VMC);

(c) 5 hours solo cross-country flight time with at least one cross-country flight of 270km (15Onm), during which full stop landings at two aerodromes different from the aerodrome of departure shall be made.
